God longs to give you good things. To drive this point home, Jesus prompts us to look at our hearts toward our children, how we long to give them good things â€" then consider that our Father in heaven is far more paternal and maternal than we are. “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? … How much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!”

It's okay to go to God with your needs and to express them. It pleases Him to meet your needs! To stop asking God to meet your needs is to stop seeing Him as your Father.

Yes, of course we need a balance. He is not just the great Santa in the Sky, granting all our wishes. He is Lord and Master. We are here to serve Him, not vice versa. What is His will? What does He want from us today? How can we please Him?
